Satellite Program for Aerospace Research & Knowledge

Reach for the Stars: CubeSat Immersive Training Program

Bring space technology down to Earth! Presented by EdgeFlyte for the Cheyenne Children’s Museum, this after-school STEM enrichment initiative offers students an unprecedented opportunity to design, build, and command real, standardized miniature spacecraft—the exact technology used by NASA and aerospace industry leaders.

Unlike digital simulations, every participant receives their own personal CubeSat kit for hands-on assembly, experimentation, and ultimate take-home ownership.

 

Middle School Track: CubeSat Intro Series

  • Grades 6–8 | Limited to 20 students per cohort

  • The perfect launchpad for younger students ready to explore the fundamentals of space technology in a guided, collaborative environment.

  • Using a simplified, plug-and-play CubeSat kit, with zero soldering required, students build real electronics while aligning with Wyoming Content and Performance Standards (WYCPS).

 

What Students Will Do:

  • Assemble & Build: Learn real satellite structural assembly with safe, beginner-friendly components.

  • Explore Sensors: Gather real-time environmental data using built-in sensors for temperature, humidity, and air quality.

  • Command Missions: Run interactive satellite mission simulations while building confidence in teamwork and critical thinking.

  • Earn Recognition: Graduate with a formal Certificate of Completion to kickstart their academic portfolio.

 

Key Program Features

  • 100% Hands-On: Zero boring lectures—students spend every session building, debugging, and operating physical hardware.

  • Keep Your Satellite: Every participant takes home their fully assembled CubeSat at the end of the course for continued learning.

  • Schedule: Starts Monday, September 14th | Meets 2x a week (2 hours per session).

  • Affordable Access: Only $40 per student (includes all materials, kits, and certification fees).
